The Milestones in history of KMKS:

1993 On 12 March Khagrapur Mohila Kalyan Samity established

1999 Registration Department Women Affairs

2000 Start Women Empowerment project funded by Bangladesh Nari Progati Sangha

2000 Involved in Durbar network, for women’s organization and women who work against violence against women, still continuing; in 2008 signed a project

2001 Involved in Women Resource Network in Chittagong Hill Tracts, for women’s organization and women who work against violence against women

2003 Started Non formal primary education, funded by BRAC

2003 Registration NGO- Affairs Bureau

2004 Implementation Homestead gardening project, 100 women employed, funded by DANIDA, after one year continue

2004 KMKS Organized Agriculture Fair, 9 successful female farmers awarded

2005 Project Community Empowerment project (CEP), funded by UNDP continued

2006 Start Peoples Actions for Sustainable Development and Good Governance project, funded DANIDA, partnership with 4 NGO’s in Khagrachari Hill District

2006 Enhancing the capacities of CHT women for Good Governance in 3hill Districts, funded by Christian Aid and Tebtebba Foundation Women Assembly established in the 3 hill districts Start CHT Women’s Network by MKMS (Weaving activities, English speaking course)

2007 Chairperson KMKS receives national award for delivering social service, awarded by bimonthly magazine in Bangladesh, result of Durbar network

2007 Involved in SANGAT

2007 Involved in Chittagong Hill Tracts Women’s Organization Network (CHTWON) and KMKS is playing as Chairperson & Secretariat Office in Khagrachari District;

2008 Membership of Gender and Water Alliance (GWA) and Camping for Sustainable Rural Livelihood (CSRL).

2008 project Non formal education 10 schools, funded by BRAC

2008 Visit to Japan Jumma Net in Japan, project support violence victims 3 years

2008 Project health awareness and support, NGO foundation

2008 Enhancing Capacities of CHT Women for Good Governance continued

2008 Weaving project, supported by UNDP making traditional clothes, weavers group participated in Indigenous Fair in Dhaka

2010 Membership of SOPRA and Nari Grantha Prabartana
